In my conversations with clients, I have learned that many women don’t understand the purpose of using a face toner after cleansing the skin. Believe it or not, toner is actually a very important component in the skin care routine.
A face toner should be used just after the cleaning process. Not only will it function to remove any remaining traces of the cleanser, it will also help to restore the natural pH level of the skin.
Apply serums and moisturizers immediately after toning while skin is still damp because moist skin is more receptive. When the skin is wet with toner you will use less product and get better absorption…this translates into saving you money.
For hot flashes or sunburns, use an alcohol-free toner to hydrate and cool the skin. It can even be spritzed over make-up for a quick “pick-me-up” during the heat of the summer. Also, be sure to pack a travel-size container of hydrating toner for use in flight as high-altitude cabin oxygen often zaps moisture from the skin.
